apart from the clamp/spring difference, the XR1000 has longer stroke and so a taller engine. the heads are further apart. The 750 pipes don't line up well if at all. Also the starter lump on the primary case is in the way. I have 750 pipes on mine but we had to cut and reweld quite a bit.
