Transmission breakdown 4 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 1
During my last ride to Lago di Garda, Iīve got a problem with the shifter mechanism; it wasnīt possible anymore to shift out from the 3rd gear. Today the crankcase was opened and the reason was found: One tooth from the 3rd gear broke and slipped between the sides of the sprocketwheels. Lucky that the tooth didnīt make a bigger damage. It bit into another sprocketwheel, which lost a half tooth and bit in the ground of the crankcase.
So Iīve to change "only" two pairs of sprocketwheels: Pair 2 and 3 (picture).
Should I take the original spareparts or e.g. Andrews? Does anyone have experience?
Here some pictures

So I think, that the lost of transmission oil wasnīt the reason for the breaking of the tooth, but probably the "tooth of time"; some little fault in the material perhabs. Because there isnīt any conspicuous wearing at the sprocketwheels. What said Peter Stark years ago: "The original transmission is shit..." Whatīs the better choice?
